Attention Caregivers: Darcie Sims, Ph.D., CGC, CHT Presents ''Caring for the Caregiver''
On Tuesday, October 29th, Darcie D. Sims, Ph.D., CGC, CHT will present ''Caring for the Caregiver'' at the Event Center at C.R. Sparks on 18 Kilton Road in Bedford, New Hampshire at 10:00 a.m. This free 3-hour event, sponsored by Manchester’s Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium in cooperation with the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, is designed for well-being of caregivers and will address common stress-related issues among the care-giving community and how to stay emotionally and physically healthy.
''Caring for the Caregiver'' is designed for professional caregivers such as clergy, nurses, social workers, funeral directors, education personnel, counselors, nursing home and hospital administrators. This workshop will explore – through discussion and exercises – the personal expectations of oneself and others, define and recognize stress and burnout, and explore stress management tools and techniques.

Darcie Sims, President and Co-Founder of Grief, Inc., is a grief management specialist, a nationally certified grief counselor, a certified pastoral bereavement specialist, and a licensed psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. Well-known across the country for her work in grief management and education, Sims is also Director of the American Grief Academy, Coping Editor of Bereavement magazine, Vice President of Education for Edu-vision, Inc., and author of a number of books, books on tape, and videos. Her past experience includes serving on the national board of directors for The Compassionate Friends, the national board of directors for the Association of Death Education and Counseling, and the board of trustees for the National Catholic Ministry to the Bereaved. In 1991 and 1996 she co-chaired the World Gathering on Bereavement and in 2001 she keynoted at the 2001 World Gathering.
