nhobit.com offers statewide obituaries
National Obituary Portal, Tributes.com, Creates Localized NH Version - NHObit.com
Important news for New Hampshire residents: Tributes.com™ will soon change how the state accesses information about recent and past deaths with the launch of its New Hampshire version - www.nhobit.com.
Since early 2008, Tributes.com has been well on its way to changing how people retrieve obituary information, locate service details and memorialize loved ones. Created by Jeff Taylor, founder of Monster.com and Eons.com, the site is the largest and most comprehensive obituary resource in the U.S., enabling people to easily search for recent and historical obituaries, including national and international notables, from their database of more than 84 million records. Offering a variety of online multi-media memorialization options, www.tributes.com, along with their extensive network of funeral home partners, help families celebrate their loved ones, properly and permanently documenting and preserving the rich stories of their lives with unlimited copy, photos, music, video and more. By archiving obituary information online, the stories of passed lives have an eternal resting place for generations to come and are less likely forgotten, misplaced or lost with others who have passed on.
By offering one centralized national web destination, Tributes.com helps friends and family to reliably access information and participate in the memorial process regardless of their geographic location. And with the ability to request email alerts for obituaries that enter the Tributes database with a particular family name, or association with a specific location, school, company or military unit, people can ensure that they never miss the opportunity to express their condolences when a friend or family member passes away. The site also serves as an online community to provide support during times of loss and grieving, providing a form of social networking that helps bring people together online to share their experiences and mourn.
Localizing with NHObit.com
With a national presence already in place Tributes.com is now localizing its offering, and delivering additional benefits to the community and commerce here in New Hampshire. Tributes’ New Hampshire version -- www.nhobit.com-- is the first state-dedicated implementation stemming from the national portal.
www.nhobit.com will provide residents of New Hampshire, as well as those with connections to the Granite State, access to obituaries and service information for anyone who has been memorialized and/or buried locally.
From a local business angle, www.nhobit.com provides highly targeted advertising opportunities to businesses that can be of service to people visiting the site including local funeral homes and crematoriums, florists, genealogy services, monument companies and many others offering related products and services.
In essence, www.nhobit.com will become a one-stop location for anyone who wishes to obtain information about the passing of a loved one, family friend, or co-worker who resided in New Hampshire.
A Sign Of The Times
www.tributes.com and www.nhobit.com are inspired by the Baby Boomer generation. Like Taylor’s Baby Boomer networking site, Eons.com, the sites are rapidly gaining popularity as a direct result of generational change. With more and more Boomers making the transition from traditional media to online news resources and social networking sites -- alongside their children coined Generation X (born 1965-80) --online access is practically a mandatory.
About Tributes.com

Founded by Jeff Taylor, the founder of world–renowned Monster Worldwide and eons.com, the online baby boomer community, the Tributes team is focused on making sure that through one centralized national web destination that obituary and service information are easily accessible and that there is a place for people of all ages to come together through online community to remember and to share the rich stories of the important people in their lives that have passed away. Eons, Inc. and Dow Jones&Company are strategic investors in Tributes, Inc.

Plan ahead before fall arrives |
If you've been thinking about pre-planning or even just looking for more information about your options, understanding cremation, or other available services, now is the perfect time.
"In the summer months we are less busy with at-need arrangements allowing us more time to meet with people interested in speaking with us about their pre-arrangement options," says President Buddy Phaneuf. "A lot of people tell us they are curious to learn more about cremation or want to take a tour of our facilities and get too busy or don't inquire until they have to make arrangements for a loved one. Now is the best time to make an appointment or stop in."
