VNA forms Stepping Stones Program
The Visiting Nurse Association of Manchester and Southern New Hampshire announces its spring Stepping Stones bereavement support program. This group is for children and teens– along with an adult parent or guardian-who have experienced the death of a family member or friend. Stepping Stones is designed to help facilitate healing by allowing participants to understand and express their feelings of grief. Our program provides a safe passage through the Stepping Stones of grief.

Stepping Stones works with children and teens ages 5 - 18 in age appropriate groups, meeting once a week for six weeks.  VNA Hospice Staff and two trained Hospice volunteers facilitate each group. Recreational activities and various art forms are used to facilitate the grieving/coping process. Our subject is serious but the kids have fun and develop supportive friendships.

The spring group will meet from Wednesday, April 22 through Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 6-7:30 PM at Brookside Congregational Church located at 2013 Elm Street, Manchester, NH. There is no charge for attendance, but registration is required. Information and registration form can be obtained by calling Gary at 663-4005 or going online at www.manchestervna.org. First click on “services” box, and then click on spiritual care/ bereavement groups.
